Sunday, 26 March, the fourth Sunday of Lent, which is dedicated to the memory of St. John of the Ladder, was a parish feast of the church of St John Climacus of Transfiguration community in Kurovskoe, Moscow province.
The day before, on Saturday, March 25, at 2:00 pm, there was the All Night Vigil in the Church of St. John Climacus. On the very day of the feast from 7:00 a.m. services of the Nocturn, Hours and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated. After the dismissal of the Liturgy, parishioners and guests prayed a Moleben to St. John with the consecration of water. On this day the priest of the congregation, fr. Alexey Guglivaty co-celebrated with hegumen Peter (Vasiliev) from St. Nicholas Edinoverie church, Moscow. During the service a combined choir of singers of Edinoverie churches of Moscow and Moscow Region chanted.
Due to weather conditions, namely a large overflow of melted water on the church grounds, the cross procession did not take place around the church.
At the end of the festive divine service, the parishioners and guests of our church were invited to a solemn meal. Also on the day of the feast day the community of the Transfiguration of our Lord in Kurovskoe was honoured by the visit of fr. Antony Ryzhakov and hegumen of the Transfiguration Guslitsky Monastery fr. Serafim (Golovanov) of Kurovskoe. The honoured guests congratulated fr. Alexey and parishioners of the church on the feast day, wishing the congregation prosperity and growth.
Also on this day, by the invitation of fr. Anthony Ryzhakov, Edinoverie laity and clergy of Moscow and Kurovskoe visited the church of St John the Evangelist of Likino-Dulevo and saw the wonderful exposition of the church museum of the church.
