On March 9, on Ecumenical Parental Saturday in the temporary church of the Orthodox Old Believer parish in honor of the Holy Prophet Elijah in Minsk, Minsk diocese, the funeral service of Vyacheslav Evgenyevich Klementiev, chairman of the Parish Council of the parish, took place. The funeral rite was performed by the rector of the Edinoverie Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas in Studentsy (Moscow), hegumen Peter (Vasiliev). All night the Psalter was read for the deceased. Old Believers came to say farewell to Vyacheslav Evgenievich not only from Minsk, but also from other cities of Belarus.

The orphaned community was visited by Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Veniamin, who performed the funeral litia according to the old rite.

On behalf of the clergy of the 2nd Minsk city borough archpriest Archpriest Igor Korostelev laid a wreath on the grave of the deceased.

Vyacheslav Evgenyevich Klementiev (1950-2024) was the head of the Minsk Orthodox Pomorian Old Believer community (reunited with the Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate back in the "noughties"), a retired Airborne Forces major. He was an extremely sincere, warm-hearted and charismatic person who did a lot for the rapprochement (and in the case of his community - reunification) of Belarusian Pomorians with the Russian Church.
