A Edinoverie conference was held in the walls of the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy

From May 24 to 26, 2024, the St. Petersburg Theological Academy hosted the international scientific and theological conference “Edinoverie parishes in the Russian Orthodox Church: history and modernity”.

Church and secular scholars, teachers of theological academies and seminaries, theological and secular universities and scientific institutes were invited to participate in the conference. During the conference there was a presentation of scientific research in the field of such a phenomenon as Edinoverie, different views on the history, significance and prospects for the development of Edinoverie in modern church life were presented. Particular attention was paid to the history and current state of the Edinoverie parishes. On the second day of the conference, a round table was held to discuss the vital problems of the existence of Edinoverie in the Russian Church. The conference ended with a joint service in the Saint Nicholas Edinoverie community in the church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God on Marata street.
